Kemenah Finishes 11th At Dodge County

Dodge City, KS. – (June 14, 2010) – Chad Kemenah has certainly had his fair share of ups and downs so far 2010 but he was looking to change all of that this past weekend at the beautiful Dodge County Speedway in Dodge City, Kansas. With rainy weather in forecast World of Outlaws officials cancelled Saturday night’s program and a very rare afternoon race was held on Sunday afternoon.

Starting in the 19th position on a very tacky and narrow high banked 3/8 mile Kemenah knew he was going to be in a 30-Lap dogfight until he would see the checkered flags. Starting deep in the field has not bothered Kemenah at all this season, the Findlay, Ohio driver has had some of his best finishes of the year coming from positions 15th or more.

Kemenah quickly found his 19th starting position and it didn’t take long until the green lights would come on around the high banked oval and the fans were treated to some excellent racing. Kemenah got a decent start and started to work the middle of the speedway trying to make his way forward. As the race continued the Golden Flavor Sesame Sticks No.63 car was on the move along the bottom of the speedway.

Just shy of the half way point of the feature Kemenah was running in the 14th position with plenty of laps remaining to earn a top ten finish. As the race continued Kemenah kept working the bottom line in turns one and two and the middle line in turns three and four. The car slowly kept getting better and better towards the final stages of the race where the middle line had really started to come in late for Kemenah.

Kemenah was able to get by Craig Dollansky with two laps to go and Friday night’s winner Sammy Swindell was directly in front of him. Swindell was holding down the tenth position and Kemenah knew he had shot at him if he got a good run coming out of turns one and two but traffic would halt Golden Flavor Sesame Sticks, Hampshire Engines, MS Motorsports, Maxim from overtaking Swindell on the final lap. Kemenah would cross the finish line in the 11th after the 30-Lap, A-Main was completed.

“We ran ok today,” said Kemenah. “We got really behind this weekend qualifying wise; we have to get better in that area. Once we get racing were ok but if we are starting 16th in the feature it makes it really tough to finish inside the top ten. We have figured some things out and we will make our way up to Grand Forks, North Dakota next weekend and look to get back on track.”
