Drummondville, QC. – (July 29, 2010) – Chad Kemenah made his World of Outlaws debut at the high banked, four-tenths-mile known as the Autodrome Speedway in Drummondville Quebec. Fresh off his 12th place finish at the Lebanon Valley Speedway Kemenah was feeling very optimistic about his chances heading into racing action at the beautiful facility.
“We ran pretty well at Lebanon Valley Speedway and the car felt really good the entire night,” expressed Kemenah. “I don’t know what it is about this 2010 season, but we can’t catch any breaks. Running at a big track like Lebanon Valley and running inside the top ten for most of the race was good for Adam and I, were just looking to put together some solid finishes with the Ironman 55 and the Knoxville Nationals just around the corner.”
Kemenah certainly carried the momentum with him over the boarder into Drummondville, Quebec. The Golden Flavor Sesame Sticks, Hampshire Engines, MS Motorsports, Maxim timed in fourth overall. The Findlay, Ohio driver then backed up his time trail effort with a victory in the first heat race and earning a spot in the always important Dash later in the evening. Starting on the front row of the Dash, Kemenah was able to learn a few things about the track and finished in the third position setting up a perfect starting position for the 35-Lap, A-Main event.
The sold out Drummondville race fans were treated to a spectacular World of Outlaws tradition, the four wide parade lap and the Kemenah was right there in the front row. After a brief fireworks session the anxious crowd settled into their seats and the feature was underway.
Kemenah was able to get a good start and settle into the third position coming out of turns one and two with Paul McMahan running a right behind him in the fourth position. As the leaders started to battle for the lead Kemenah continued to run his own race and the No.63 sprinter was starting to gain on the leaders before the first caution flag would come out. With the track still very fast Kemenah was working the bottom of the speedway to perfection which allowed him to hold onto the third position until the half-way point of the feature.
Shortly after the half-way point of the feature Kemenah was not able to keep the No.63 sprinter glued to the bottom of the speedway like he had done earlier in the race. With Jason Meyers and Paul McMahan in hot pursuit Kemenah was able to hold off multiple challenges from the California based duo. Right after McMahan passed Kemenah for the third position Kemenah went to the cushion looking for some extra speed which allowed Meyers to pass him for the fourth position three laps later.
Running in the fourth position with nearly ten laps remaining in the feature event Kemenah was about to duel with Sam Hafertepe, Jr. who had started in the tenth position and was really running strong in the final stages of the race. Kemenah held off the young Texan driver as long as he could but the No.15H would make the pass leaving the Kemenah in the fifth position with three laps to go. Dealing with a very tight race car Kemenah was able to hold on to the sixth position after the 35-Lap feature was completed.
“We were running in the third position for awhile and I could feel the car get tighter and tighter as the race went on,” said Kemenah. “We are doing everything we can to run up front, we were able to time in good, win our heat and have a solid finish in the Dash. If we can keep this up we just might be able to steal a win here and there you never know. This Golden Flavor Sesame Sticks, Hampshire Engines, MS Motorsports, Maxim No.63 has the potential to run up front with these guys and hopefully we can continue this weekend.”
